FITTING A ENDURO CARAVAN MOVER SINGLE AXLE
ENDURO CARAVAN MOVER SINGLE AXLE
Best fitted with two persons.
Axle stands needed.
Various spanners.
Allow five hours fitting time.
Cost £600
Mechanical Components.
Before starting this type of task please ensure that you read and understand the instructions fully. This demo is only intended as a guide only.

Place the caravan on a hard level surface jack up the front end as high as possible and prop with legs/bricks and axle stands.
Clean the area of the chassis where you need to mount all components to ensure good fitting.
Unpack all the component and check you have all the correct parts.
Check before installation that drains/spare tyre etc will not interfere or cause obstruction.
Loosely assemble the left hand motor / right hand motor and main cross bar these should be no more than finger tight. Place the assembly under the caravan the unit should be fitted in front of the road wheels but if not possible turn 180 degrees and place at rear.
Loosely fit the two clamping assembly’s to the chassis this is the awkward part that requires two men as there is some weight in the motors. We found fitting better using axle stands to position the motors but two are required on each side for balance.

Once fitted to chassis assemble and fit the cross actuation bar again finger tight.
Centre the bars with the markings on the cross bar.
Adjust and slide the motors and assembly until the rollers are 30mm from the tyre use spaces provided. Ensure rollers are centred with the tyre and there are no obstructions then tighten whole assembly. Keep an eye on the 30mm spacing as this will change as you tighten.
It is vitally important that each roller is exactly the same distance away from the tyre. The whole assembly must be parallel to the axle.
Fully tighten all bolts and once happy fit the chassis stop blocks to ensure the mover does not slide along the chassis.

Electrical components.
Make sure the 12v & 240v supply is disconnected from the caravan.
Find a suitable place for the ECU (electronic control unit) such as a storage area, under a seat or a bed. Make sure this place is dry and close to the battery (30cm – 60cm) The unit can be mounted vertical or horizontal. When choosing location ensure the antenna can be completely extended and cannot be easily damaged.
I fitted mine in the locker box and used double sided sticky tape to secure.
Drill a whole 25mm in the floor to bring the cables to the ECU
Cautions before drilling take extra care to avoid gas pipes and electrical wires.
Route and connect the cables as per diagram positive and negative for each motor leave some slack cable for future if changing vans.
Place the cables in the trunking provided ensuring that each cable is marked at each end and clip to caravan underside.

Crimp spade end connectors to cable ends and connect.
Find a suitable place for the Battery Power Isolation Switch which includes an external holder with hinged cover. The switch must be mounted onto the exterior of the caravan and be easily accessible in case of an emergency.
The switch must be mounted as close to the battery as possible to keep the length to a minimum.
I fitted mine in the battery locker and a bit of shaping to the socket ensure a good fit. And easily accessible with the door open. This saved me drilling the exterior wall.
Finally connect the cables up ensuring the correct polarity and test system.
I had problems with my 110 leisure battery but found after a bit of playing that it was not holding a charge and a new battery was needed.
I hope this helps.
