Buying insurance is common sense. It is protection against the risks that can confront you every day. Fate can strike at any time; insurance is your safeguard against loss, damage or injury.
When owning a caravan we need to ensure that we have the correct protection in place for our travels and holidays. As well as the obvious car and caravan insurance, Protection when travelling involves breakdown insurance that so cover the caravan, the countries you are travelling within and the length of caravan.
If we are having a caravan holiday to Europe we need the correct medical cover. The basic would be a European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) with extended cover through Travel Insurance.
When caravanning we spend a good amount of time on the road and if unfortunate could become involved in a road traffic accident. If this were the case the up to 5 policies could be required to cover the unfortunate expenses that could mount up to hundreds of thousands of pounds.
Having recently been involved in a RTA that resulted in the write off of our caravan we were thankful that we had the correct cover.
Please follow the links to the right to find out more about the types of cover.
